Farzana Shakil’s Makeover Salon is a name rarely unknown to the women of Dhaka; and men too, thanks to their wives, girlfriends, mothers, daughters trotting off to the salon every now and then, while they perform chauffeur duties.
The employees at the parlour are as gracious and helpful as they are in the other branches and you are sure to come across a few familiar faces amongst them. The new branch offers all the services that are offered in the others with a variety of facials, styling and other services.
In order to try out their new addition I got a Cleansing Facial that comes with a face mask. The service was as one would expect with somebody chaperoning the way to the desired section and with the waiting period being minimal. The facial itself was done very gently and lasted for almost an hour, although that varies between types. All in all for those who live in the far end of the city, now you have a perfect place to pretty and tidy up before a party or unwind with a massage after a grueling day.

Farzana Shakil’s Makeover Salon is a name rarely unknown to the women of Dhaka; and men too, thanks to their wives, girlfriends, mothers, daughters trotting off to the salon every now and then, while they perform chauffeur duties.
The salon was one of the first few big names to give a make-over to the make-over industry of our country almost a decade ago. Since then they have been a favourite of females, starting from teenagers to their mothers and at times grandmothers too. The salon started its operations at Dhanmondi Road 28 and was housed there for many years till a couple of years back when they moved to bigger premises with modified facilities and jazzed up interiors. In 2006 the parlour inaugurated its second branch in Gulshan to ease the trouble taken by their loyal clients, in nearby areas, to travel to Dhanmondi. And, yet again Farzana Shakil has done the same for her clients located further north. The third branch of the renowned parlour has been launched at Uttara very recently.

With the parlour covering an area of around 9000 square feet, and is divided into two floors with a black wooden staircase connecting them from within. The parlour is very contemporarily designed with a pleasing ambience. On entering the premises one will find a waiting area right in front of the reception. To the right are the cutting and styling sections, while to the left is the make-up section. The make-up section in this branch is not divided into two, one for bridal make-up and the other for regular, but, consists of one for everyone to work together.
Going up the stairs one will find the foot spa and behind a large wooden wall lies the facial section with neatly made beds and soft lights. This branch also accommodates the Sabai Spa section with a separate room for their special Ayurvedic spa. The Sabai Spa will be open to clients from the 1st of June.
