Banna Mirza

The best thing is I don’t have to prepare for shooting” …Banna Mirza

Banna Mirza is one of the most popular actresses of the time; despite her presence in several TV serials, Banna manages to squeeze some time out for her family on weekends. How are those leisurely days spent? Banna tells us:
How do you spend your weekends?
Banna Mirza: Household chores top the priority list on weekends. My husband and I share the chores. So, weekends usually mean waking up with work in mind. Sometimes, however, we go to exhibitions or hang out with friends. Apart from that, I like to read memoirs and political books on weekends. Sometimes, I would watch a movie or listen to some music.
What’s usually on the menu on weekends?
Banna Mirza: Weekends are the only time that proper food is cooked at our home. Neither my husband nor I can cook that well. As long as it’s edible, it’s food – that’s the mantra of our cooking.
Do you also have guests over sometimes?
Banna Mirza: There is a rule for weekend guests at my home: they have to stay over. If the following day is also a break, we watch movies together and chitchat deep into the night.
Who are the people you look forward to meeting?
Banna Mirza: I spend time with my sisters, which is always fun. If my sisters are not there, my husband and I go over to my mother’s house, where we have a blast.
Your favourite thing about the weekend:
Banna Mirza: The best thing about weekends is that I know I don’t have to prepare for shooting.
Where do you usually getaway to, if ever?
Banna Mirza: We stay in Dhaka for short vacations. If the break is longer, we usually go to Kolkata.
