At least four people were killed and five injured as a bus collided head-on with a microbus in Kamarkhand upazila of Sirajganj on Tuesday evening.
Police said the accident took place around 6:00pm in Konabari area near Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge, leaving three people dead on the spot and injuring six others.
A fourth person succumbed to his injuries at Sirajganj Sadar Hospital, said Aslam Uddin, a sub-inspector of Bangabandhu Jamuna Bridge West Police Station.
Three of the deceased were named as Abdur Rashid, 25, Hafizur Rahman, 40, and his son Munir, 8, of Shagata upazila of Gaibandha. The name of the deceased microbus driver could not be known immediately.
The Mymensingh-bound bus of Nirapad Paribahan from Bogra collided with the Bogra-bound microbus from Dhaka, the police official said.
The injured were rushed to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital, reports our Sirajganj correspondent.
The bodies were sent to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
